Meet Info

 

Logistics

1.   Meet are rain or shine!

2.   Heat sheets will be emailed the night before. Please print these out if you would like a copy during the meet.

3.   Arrival at the meet is always hectic. We highly recommend arriving early to get situated and sunscreened prior to warm-ups. There is no time after warm ups to get this done, especially if you are volunteering.

4.   When you arrive, find the team check in area and initial by your swimmer(s)’ names. For home meets, this is typically at the front of the club.

 

Swimmer Info

1.   If for any reason your child is no longer attending the meet, especially if you realize this the morning of, please email swimsequoia@gmail.com.

2.   To help Clerk of Course identify swimmers, we ask that you write the following on their right shoulder in sharpie. Bring extra sharpies and be prepared to reinforce this during the meet! Example below.
- ID Number (beside your child’s name on the heat sheet)
- SEQ
- First Initial, Last Name

3.   Write their Event #s, Heats and Lanes on an arm or leg. Example below.

4.   Clerk of Course volunteers work to make sure the swimmers are lined up for each event. Swimmers need to stay in the team area, near Clerk of Course, so they can listen for their event and immediately check in. Please help young swimmer with this so the meet runs smoothly, on time and no one misses an event!

5.   Never leave a meet unless you personally speak to a coach. Your child may be signed up for a relay and if he/she leaves, then the other swimmers are unable to compete.

 

Volunteer Info

1.   Volunteers must attend the Volunteer Meeting before the start of their shift. Please be on time! The meeting cannot start until everyone is there. Plan ahead to get your children settled. When you arrive, grab your name tag and check in.

2.   If something comes up and you are unable to volunteer at the last minute, please call or text Meghan Dahl (913-972-5838) or Nikki Turitto (615-504-8447). Please do not no show.

3.   The volunteer time slot is an estimate. Your shift lasts through the entire session, regardless of the time on the clock. Some meets may be done earlier and some may go late.

4.   If you are a Stroke & Turn Judge, wearing a white shirt helps the Meet Referee and Runners locate you.

5.   Plan to give your volunteer shift your undivided attention!
